Career Presentation Request
Student organizations can schedule career presentations by registering for a Longhorn Career Facilitator Training or reaching out to a College Career Center. Please review the two options below.
Longhorn Career Facilitators
The option we recommend is having a designated representative, typically an officer, from your organization become a Longhorn Career Facilitator. A Career Facilitator receives a training on the career topic they would like to present over to their student organization. We equip you with all the necessary materials to give a successful presentation: presentation slides, facilitation guide, resources, and how to connect with their College Career Center.
Student organizations can choose from the following facilitation topics:
- Best Resume Practices
- Job & Internship Searching
- LinkedIn Tips & Tricks
- Networking 101
- Interviewing Skills
*If there is a career topic not listed, but are strongly interested in, please email careered@austin.utexas.edu.
Benefits of becoming a Longhorn Career Facilitator:
- Flexibility for you and your student organization on when career presentations happen.
- Your student organization will have easy access to presentation materials and resource guides.
- Open up new conversations in your student organizations and create a stronger connection with your members.
- Further develop your presentation skills.
- Add this experience to your resume!
College Career Centers
If your student organization is affiliated with a college, please reach out to your College’s Career Center for a presentation. If you are not affiliated with a specific college, then please reach out to the college that represents the majority of the students in your organization. For example, if most of your students are Moody majors, then we ask that you reach out to Moody Career Services.
If you reach out to the college that represents the majority of your students and they are not available for a presentation, please consider a Longhorn Career Facilitator training.
