Get Experience

Regardless of where you are in the career planning process, getting experience during your four years at UT Austin is the best thing you can do to prepare for success beyond the Forty Acres.

Experience—in the form of internships, leadership, research, or volunteerism—will help make you a more competitive applicant for other career experiences, post-graduation jobs, and advanced-degree programs, and can help you build the network and confidence to take other paths, including entrepreneurship.

Public Service from Texas to D.C.

Join Home to Texas as a first year to experience your hometown from a different lens of public service and research. As a third or fourth year, grow that experience through the Archer Fellowship Program where you live, learn and intern in Washington, D.C.

Get Experience in Short Programs

Don't have time to complete a full internship or other program? UT offers micro-internships that can be completed in four weeks or less, as well as job simulations that can be completed in hours.
