12twenty@Texas Student Agreement

Student and alumni users are expected to represent both themselves, their college or school, and The University of Texas at Austin (UT Austin) in a manner that demonstrates the highest standards of integrity and professionalism, as outlined in the guidelines below. Please read this agreement carefully before agreeing in your 12twenty@Texas profile. By creating a student/alumni account, you are agreeing to adhere to the following guidelines when engaging in in-person or virtual career development or recruiting activities.
Waiver/Ethics Statement/Information Release
By entering my information and uploading my resume(s) into 12twenty@Texas, I understand that I will submit my own personal application materials to employers at my discretion as part of the UT Austin campus recruiting program. If I choose, I may also make myself viewable by employers who are searching for potential candidates by selecting Yes to Allow Employers to contact me with job opportunities under my Account Settings > General > Connections. I may also choose to include my resume in Resume Books that can be accessed by employers. The information contained in my 12twenty@Texas account (e.g., graduation date, GPA, work eligibility, transcript, employment data, resume, cover letter) present, to the best of my knowledge, accurate and truthful information about me. Furnishing false information is a violation of standards of conduct, which may result in the immediate loss of my recruiting privileges.
Account Maintenance
To register I must complete my 12twenty@Texas account profile. I will update the contents of my account as necessary, or at least once each year, to maintain the accuracy of all information contained in my account. The University may de-activate my account and prohibit my access to services if information contained in my account is inaccurate, or I have not appropriately adhered to any policy stated in this agreement.
Appointments
If I schedule an appointment and have to cancel, I will do so as early as possible. I understand that canceling at the last minute or not showing up for my appointment takes appointment slots from other students who need to utilize these services. I will reschedule or cancel my appointment at least 24 hours in advance and if I cannot do so, I will contact the coach or advisor or call the career center. After three no shows, I understand that I will need to speak with a member of my career center before making future appointments.
Interviewing Policies
If I apply for opportunities that include interviews and that are scheduled within 12twenty@Texas, I will adhere to the following:
- Interview Slot Selection – I am expected to choose an interview time if accepted for an interview, unless I have accepted another offer. If I do not plan to take an interview slot, I will need to meet with a career coach or advisor in my home career center.
- Scheduled Interviews –If I no-show or make a same-day cancellation for a scheduled interview, my account will be temporarily disabled, and I will need to meet with a career coach or advisor in my home career center.
Apply Only for Positions That Match My Abilities and Interests
I understand that I am expected to submit my resume only for positions which align with my career interests and for which I am qualified. Applying for positions indiscriminately diminishes opportunities for other UT Austin students and alumni. It is unfair to my peers who genuinely want the job and to the employers expending resources to recruit on campus.
Ethical Behavior After Accepting an Internship, Co-op, or Full-Time Job Offer
I understand that my acceptance of an offer is considered an ethical agreement with the employer and that an offer is considered accepted once the employer and I have jointly agreed to the terms of employment.
Upon acceptance of an offer, I agree to end my job search, and I will notify all other employers with whom I am a job candidate and withdraw from further consideration. I agree to speak with a member of my college or school career center if I need assistance cancelling any remaining interviews or withdrawing existing resume submissions.
If I find myself in a situation in which I must withdraw (renege) from an accepted offer, I understand that I must communicate promptly to both the employer and my college or school career center. I further understand that failure to communicate appropriately may result in restricted or removal of my access to career center services and that my academic department chair may be consulted.
Data Aggregation & Reporting
By reporting my internship and post-graduation outcomes, I understand that my data are aggregated and used by students to research trends and career insights by major or other group and used by The University for college, school and university reporting and benchmarking with peer institutions. My individual and personal data are not identifiable and are not published.
